Key features for Bitcoin Cash

Legacy or CashAddr

Switch your address between the Legacy and CashAddr formats at the top of the BCH page. Both formats lead to the same account.

Sign offline

Keep your keys on a Keystone or a Goldshell, or on a second phone kept offline, and sign each Bitcoin Cash transaction by scanning QR codes.

Several recipients, one transaction

Batch Transfer sends BCH to several addresses in a single transaction.

Feature availability

Send and receive
Each account has one address, in the Legacy format (starting with 1) or as CashAddr (starting with q), which you choose on the BCH page. You can send to either format, with or without the bitcoincash: prefix.
Batch Transfer
Send to several addresses in one transaction with Batch Transfer, from the Send screen.
Hardware and cold wallets
Sign on a Keystone or a Goldshell by scanning QR codes, or on an offline phone in cold wallet mode. See Hardware & Cold Wallets.
Private keys and watch wallets
Import a wallet by its private key, in hex or WIF. Watch wallets are for EVM addresses only.
Risk warnings
The recipient of every transfer is checked against known scam and sanctioned addresses. Look-alike address warnings cover EVM networks only.

Important notes

  • Bitcoin Cash is not bitcoin. A Legacy Bitcoin Cash address looks like a Bitcoin address: both start with 1. Never send BTC to a BCH address or BCH to a Bitcoin address, and check the network before you send; the CashAddr format avoids the confusion. See I sent crypto on the wrong network.
  • One transfer at a time. While a Bitcoin Cash transfer is pending, you cannot send another from the same wallet, and you cannot speed it up or cancel it. See Pending or stuck transactions.
  • The fee is deducted from the amount. By default, the recipient receives the amount you enter minus the fee. To send an exact amount, tap Change input amount to the received amount on the confirmation screen.
Should I use the Legacy or the CashAddr address?

Either: they are the same account, written in two formats. A CashAddr address, starting with q, cannot be mistaken for a Bitcoin address. Some exchanges accept only one format, so use the one the exchange asks for. Choose the format at the top of the BCH page; Receive then shows that address.

Why is my Bitcoin Cash address different from my Bitcoin address?

FxWallet derives Bitcoin Cash on its own path (m/44'/145'/0'/0/0), as other wallets with a mnemonic phrase do, so even in the Legacy format your BCH address differs from your Bitcoin address. Send each coin only to its own address.

Can I use a hardware wallet for Bitcoin Cash?

Yes. Connect a Keystone or a Goldshell by scanning a QR code and sign each transaction on the device, or use a second phone kept offline in cold wallet mode. See Hardware & Cold Wallets.
