Crypto for a whole group, shared with one code

Send crypto to up to 500 people at once with a Crypto Gift in FxWallet: each claims a share with a link or a code, and what is left can be reclaimed.

Giving crypto to a group starts with collecting addresses

To send crypto to a group, the sender first needs each person’s address on the right network, and someone who has no wallet yet has no address to give.

A Crypto Gift is created in one transaction. A smart contract on the gift’s network holds the amount, and a link or a 6-character code lets each person claim a share into their own wallet.

What Crypto Gifts do

Fixed or random amounts

Every gift can hold the same amount, or the total can be split at random, with the largest share marked in the list of claims. One Crypto Gift holds up to 500 gifts and a message.

Coins and tokens on 6 EVM networks

A gift can hold the network’s coin or a token such as USDT, on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, and BNB Chain. One transaction creates the whole gift; a token may need an approval first.

A link, a QR code or a code

Share the link, an image with its QR code or the 6-character gift code, in a message, on X or through any app on the phone. Someone without FxWallet who opens the link is shown how to install it and claim the gift.

One claim per wallet

Whoever has the code can claim once per wallet, within 24 hours, while gifts remain. When a code does not work, the app says why: it does not exist, the gift has expired or all of its gifts have been claimed.

A Gas Card can pay the fee

Claiming is a transaction on the gift’s network. On Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and BNB Chain, a Gas Card can pay its fee, and redeeming a shared Gas Card costs nothing, so a newcomer can claim with a card you send them.

What is left comes back to you

After 24 hours, Reclaim returns what nobody claimed to your address. FxWallet can notify you when a gift is ready to be reclaimed.

How it works

Crypto Gifts in three steps

  1. Create the gift

On the wallet’s home screen, tap More → Crypto Gifts → Create. Choose Fixed Amount or Random Amount, the number of gifts, the token and the amount, add a message and tap Next Step. For a token, the app may first ask you to approve the gift contract to use it, which is a second transaction.

  2. Share it

Once the gift is created, the app shows its gift code. Copy Link copies an invitation with the link and Save opens an image of the gift with its QR code; X and More share it through other apps. The code is kept only on this phone.

  3. Claim it, or reclaim the rest

Recipients open the link, scan the QR code with Scan, or enter the code under More → Crypto Gifts → Claim, then tap Pay Gas to Claim. After 24 hours, open the gift under History → Sent and tap Reclaim to take back what was not claimed.

Coverage and limits

  • Networks: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, and BNB Chain. Crypto Gifts are available in wallets that have an EVM network.
  • Tokens: the network’s coin and tokens that have a price in FxWallet.
  • Limits: 1 to 500 gifts, each worth $0.01 to $200 (on average, for a random amount), up to $1,000 in all, and a message of up to 24 characters. The limits are converted into the currency the app displays.
  • A gift can be claimed for 24 hours after it is created, once per wallet, while gifts remain. Recipients see the amount once they have claimed it.
  • The crypto stays in the gift’s contract until it is claimed or reclaimed. It is not returned automatically: the sender reclaims it, in a transaction of its own.
  • Network fees: the sender pays them for the approval of a token, the gift and the reclaim; each recipient pays for their own claim. On Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and BNB Chain, a Gas Card can pay any of them.
  • The gift code is created on the sender’s phone and shown only there. It is case-sensitive, and anyone who has it can claim, so share it only with the people the gift is for.
Does the recipient need FxWallet?

Yes. A gift is claimed in the FxWallet app, into the recipient’s own wallet. The link opens a page that shows the gift code and how to install FxWallet and claim the gift.

What does it cost to claim a gift?

The network fee of one transaction on the gift’s network, paid from the recipient’s wallet in that network’s coin. On Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and BNB Chain, a Gas Card can pay it instead, and redeeming a Gas Card that someone shares costs nothing.

What happens to crypto that nobody claims?

It stays in the gift’s contract until you reclaim it: FxWallet does not return it on its own. After 24 hours, the gift shows Reclaimable: open it under History → Sent and tap Reclaim. To be notified, turn on Reclaim under Me → System Notification → Crypto Gifts.

Why can I not see my gift’s code on another phone?

The code is created and kept on the phone the gift was created on. On another phone, the gift appears in the history, but its code does not.

Why does a gift code not work?

FxWallet says why: the code does not exist, the gift has expired, all of its gifts have been claimed, or this wallet has already claimed it. Gift codes are case-sensitive.

Is it safe to claim a gift?

FxWallet never asks for a mnemonic phrase or a private key to claim a gift, and a genuine gift never asks you to send crypto first. The only cost of a claim is its network fee, paid from your own wallet.
